When do you need them? I cant remember! Is it only once they're in their own room at night (6months) or what about nap times (when I'll need to get housework done)

I used mine whenever I wasn't in the room with the baby so nap and bed times,

I don't think we started using ours until DS was in his own room at night time which we actually did around 8 weeks. I always let DS nap in the living room with me during the day with TV on to encourage him to start telling difference between night and day but I did use it if I went into a different room to do something and when I put him in his cot with his mobile when I used to have a shower in the morning. Probably good idea to get one before baby born to use for whenever you need to.

I'm pregnant with my first so a total novice but we're planning to use ours from day 1 even though she'll be in our room, we'll put her to bed about 6.30 (is that naive??) so can listen out for her during the evening and it'll be extra reassurance for us through the night.

We've got the Angel Sounds one though that detects if they stop breathing too so it's not just for noise.
