I have tried the ginger nut biscuits and the carbonated drinks they havent worked I ended up going to bed at 6pm last night slept from 7 to 10 then woke slept from 11 to 12.30 then up till 2am then slept ect ect I am positive I felt fine with my son! midwife cant see me for another 2 weeks (3days before my scan) found out i was pregnant at 4 weeks as was sent for a scan as doc thought the pains i had were kidney related but were due to a cist on my ovary and we saw the baby! any ideas gratefully recieved!

Totay normal: nausea, exhaustion and insomnia were my three buzz words for each pregnancy up to 16ish weeks. It's horrid, really horrid, but it will pass.

Absolutely normal, I'm afraid. And it's absolutely normal for it to stay that way for a good few more weeks, or even the entire pregnancy for some poor sods. The ginger biscuits and whatever else never worked for me either, in the end the only thing that helped was orange juice - it didn't make me feel any less sick, but it made it taste nicer, especially first thing in a morning! And if you're hungry and not keeping much down, it always helps to get a bit of sugar in you.

Funny you should mention orange juice catladycourtney1 I have found myself drinking gallons of it doesnt help with the sickness but it is refreshing! Thought I might have felt better this morning after about 7 hrs broken sleep but woke up with stinking headache and a short temper this morning!

Yeah, when I wasn't pregnant I was never big on orange juice, I preferred apple. But since I was about six weeks gone I could drink gallons a day! In my second trimester a doctor suggested I stop it, because I was getting stinking daily migraines and citrus can be a trigger for some people. I thought it was working so I avoided all citrus fruit and juice like the plague, but then they came back so I guess it wasn't that.
