Pregnancy

Can I possibly know that it is twins?

Hello
I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my second child and I am absolutely convinced that it is twins. Even more than that, I think it is twin boys. Nuts, I know! Everytime I imagine the future with my new baby, there are two of them. I even been looking up twin buggies and how to breast feed twins. Why?!

Pregnancy does feel different this time round - I've felt sick whereas last time I had no nausea at all, I'm less tired, and I am showing already. I'm sure I didn't show this much until I was about 12 weeks last time. 8 weeks is early to have a bump, right? But none of that adds up to twins.

So - does anyone else have strong feelings about what they are having? Any mothers of twins know before the 12 week scan?

Thanks!

I had a feeling as well on my last pregnancy that it was twins. Looking back, my boobs were really sore and I was getting out of breath very easily early on but it wasn't that that made me think twins, it was just a feeling from about 6 weeks.

Unfortunately, at the scan I was told there was no heartbeat. It was our 2nd MMC. DH and I were trying to make sense of it when she said "oh and one other thing I need to tell you, it was twins". Identical twins but sadly this makes it even more high risk as it's very difficult for one to survive without the other.

Anyway, I have recently found out I am expecting again and hoping this one makes it. Best of luck with your scans, I am having an early one next week, after what has happened I can't look forward to it but will at least know whether so far so good or not.

Hi Everyone, I had my scan today (drum roll please)....................................

I'm pregnant with a singleton, so I am clearly mad! I'm happy, scan went well, baby looked like she/he had the the relevant bit and that's all I care about.

Hi Longfufuf so glad to hear that the scan went well.

I had an early scan last week as panicked I was m/c again as had a lot of cramping. But scan showed everything was fine, baby in right place and measuring about right. So relieved!
