How long did it take from missed AF to getting a BFP?

Just that really - wondering what the longest time has been from your experiences for that line to show?

I did a test at 6 weeks (based on AF dates) in my first pregnancy and got a BFN. Tested 2 weeks later and got a BFP.

Now nearly 5 weeks since last AF. She's not shown up and 2 x BFN so far. I'm wondering if some people just take longer to see an increase in their hormone levels?

Other people on these boards would be at the same stage as me and have already got their BFPs. Of course, it could just mean that I am not pg which I am aware of but thought it was worth asking!

I'm probably not the best person to answer but actually got a BFP 3 days before my period was due. I think the hormone levels can really fluctuate from woman to woman... Lots of people on here have said they didn't get their BFPs til much later than AF was due...

Both times before AF was due, but I used a sensitive test. Maybe yours isn't sensitive. I have also heard of women who don't process hcg the same way. I would be surprised not to get a positive on a digital by now.

Last time AF was a week late before I got a BFP. It was a terrible week, I'd recently had a miscarriage & was desperate to be pregnant, no AF but kept getting BFNs. He's 4 months old now

Also, say you ovulated later than you were expecting and then implantation happened on day 10 or 11 rather than 7....

Got my bfp the day my period was due :) couldn't wait extra days to do the test :)

Got a BFP at around 4 weeks. Negative about a week before though.

I got mine really early, I think 4 days before AF was due, but my dating scan put me 4 days further than I thought so I must have ovulated quite early, so I guess it can go the other way if you ovulated late.

My sister never showed positive until 8 weeks or so. (I was 16 weeks when I did the test, so I have no idea how soon it would have showed).

Got mine 2 days after due.

Hi whiterose, my experience was exactly the same as you described - bfn at 6 weeks, bfp 2 weeks later. I did do one other test at 7 weeks that was bfn, but it was in the late afternoon and a bit rushed. My cycles are generally 5-6 weeks, so I don't know whether it just took a long time for the hormone level to rise or whether I just ovulated really late. Have to wait to the scan to find that one out.... I'd say keep testing and taking the folic acid. Good luck!
