Hello ladies :)

So excited for my first appointment with the midwife tomorrow, but also extremely nervous on what to expect, as this is my first pregnancy! in my last appt a week ago we determined how far i was with the nurse (but obv not 100% sure) should be 7 weeks this week.
All i know is i have to take a urine sample with me and thats it.
The doctors surgery hasnt really given me much else and ive had to wait a 8 days already since finding out im pregnant, i feel a little in the dark.

Can anyone help please :) xx

Feels like a lifetime ago I had this! (I'm 32 weeks) but here goes ...

Lots of questions ... has the nurse given you the notes to complete yet? If yes then she will just go through the questions with you again and if not the midwife will ask you the questions and complete the notes. It will be medical history type questions and questions to do with your current situation, previous pregnancies, miscarriages etc.

Depending on where you are she will or won't take blood for tests (I had these)

She will weight you too.

But I think everywhere is different.

I guess it's your booking in appt with the MW? Expect form filling. Lots of questions about your medical history (and DP's)

They'll test your wee, and probably do your blood pressure. They will want to do bloods. Nearly all women have them done but they are voluntary - none of the tests are compulsory and if you don't know what something is for, just ask (they assumed mine had been lost!) It'll probably be the only appt they weigh you at too.

You'll be given your notes to carry.

That's about it Grin
