Hi,

Was just wondering if this is normal? Keep getting mild period pains in my tummy and lower back, this is dc2 and I didn't get this with dd1, wondering if labour is imenent or it's just my body slowky getting ready? Any advice welcome! X x

I had period type pains at 3pm on Saturday.

I had DS by 9pm on Saturday.

Ring your labour ward and see what they say but I'd make sure you're packed and ready anyway. 36 weeks is pretty much full term! Best of luck.

Double check your baby bag and get your notes together. It may well be the start of things but could still take some time

I've had these since 36 weeks and am now 40+4! MW said it's my body getting ready. But worth calling labour ward just in case. Good luck :)

I've had this at night for the last 4 nights. Could be head engaging?

Nicky1306 · 23/01/2013 17:44

Head was 4/5 engaged at appointment before last and then 3/5 at yesterday's check up still get period pains on and off but nothing else.....not unbearable and no fluid or blood loss x x

I have the same today - lower back numb period like pain. Stomach ache that feels half of period pains and half of poo cramps. No show when go to the toilet. i am 37 wks. I would love it if it was labour but I don't think I am that lucky. First baby so no idea what to expect.

Nicky - what do you mean by 4/5 and 3/5 engaged??

neolara · 23/01/2013 17:52

With dc3 I had this for 3 weeks before she was born. Every day I'd think "This is the day!"
