I'm 6 weeks pg and I'm getting quite a bit of dizzyness and lightheadedness. As I understand it this is normal because of the changes going on within your body at the moment and blood pressue can be affected.

Have a read of this, but of course if you are concerned then you should speak to your GP or midwife -

It's because of your blood pressure and the extra blood pumping around - it's totally normal at this stage.

No worries mrsR, I think it does settle down quite quickly from what I've read, it's amazing how quicky everything in your body starts changing when you get your BFP! x

Low blood pressure. Happened to me on and off from early pg right through til 22 week check up when my blood pressure was finally picked up on by midwife - she said I needed to start drinking fruit juice at regular intervals throughout the day, and snack between meals as baby was snapping up all my goodness and leaving none for me to get on with my usual day to day stuff. I drank small cartons of apple juice between meals and also had some of those Go Ahead snack bars too. Worked a treat, bp all fine now and no more dizziness.

Just make sure you get it sorted now, you don't want to end up like me and passing out by yourself in the middle of Co-Op after bending down and getting up again!! Sooooo embarrassing..

It happens, I passed out a few times with this pregnancy. Can be for many reasons, blood pressure, blood sugar, nausea, tiredness etc.

If it continues speak to your gp or midwife.
