Me and dh are booking our holiday to North Africa this year with dc's who are 4 and 16 mths plus me being around 30 weeks when we fly. Does anyone have any tips or advice for a 4 hour flight with other small kids in tow? Would have booked later but ticket prices too expensive for us now and want to visit dh's relatives before I pop. Next time we see them won't be for a few years til we can afford it again and youngest is at least 2/3 years old. Views appreciated!

I flew quite a bit further than that (South Africa) at 26 weeks and back at 30 weeks. the flight was no more uncomfortable than it usually is! Wear flight socks, drink lots of water, walk around every 1/2 hour etc. Usual advice ...

I was more concerned about the travel insurance. Check you are covered (my travel and health insurnace only covered me up to 30 weeks), check you are covered for going into premature labour. I was particularly worried about this as I had a friend go into premature labour at 30 weeks about a month before I went. Check the baby is covered. Just make sure you have excellent, excellent travel insurance I would say.

Should add I have had absolutely NO complications with this pregnancy and there was no risk, my MW was happy for me to go and I was seen by her 2 days before going aswell as by the GP.

You will also need a letter that it's safe to fly after 26 weeks, this depends from airline to airline so do check.

Make sure your airline are aware as some will only allow you to fly up to 28 weeks PG at return date
