Hospital appointment around 27 weeks

Hi,

I'm 22 weeks and I've just received a letter from the hospital stating that I should go in for an appointment on the 27th week. The midwife never mentioned anything about a hospital appointment and neither did the sonographer at the 20 week scan (all was normal). Is this a routine appointment or is there something I should be concerned about?

Thanks!

Is this your first pregnancy? I had to see the consultant at the hospital to discuss birth options in my second pregnancy as I had an EMCS first time around.

Otherwise, no idea! Phone the hospital and ask!

Thanks, yes it is my 1st pregnancy. I will give them a call.

Could be 28 week bloods? Where do you go for your midwife appointments? If you go to a childrens centre maybe theres policies that say they can't do blood tests there. Just a guess tbh.

I have to see a midwife at 28 weeks, standard appointment for all pg, also for whooping cough jab. Maybe your community team can't deal with this? It does vary between areas. Usually it's just routine but if you have anything out of the ordinary it might be for a consultant. Is there a number you can call to check what they will do? But it is normal to have an appointment at that stage. Good luck x

It's not for a glucose tolerance test is it? Thats about that time i think (?) I'd phone and ask
