I'm 37 years old and have miscarried 5 times already. I'm only 6 weeks gone (or 1 day off) and am petrified that I will lose this baby too.

I had thought that my baby making days were pretty much over due to the fact that my Aunt and Nan were both pretty much menopaused by the time they were 40 so this has come as a bit of a shock.

I have my first midwife appointment at the end of Jan (should be approx 8 weeks or so by then).

Could do with chatting to someone. Am new to the site so no totally sure how to use it!

Hi Vicki. I'm so sorry for your losses. I've only has 1 mc but can totally relate to what you are saying. I can't offer any words of wisdom as we are still ttc after my mc but didn't want your post to go unanswered. I have seen some posts in here where people have had multiple mc's and then gone on to have a successful pregnancy so there is hope. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you that this one sticks xxx Smile

Hi Vicki. I've had 3 mc and also have one DD so it is possible to have a few mc and also a successful pregnancy (seems to have just been luck that DD was 2nd pregnancy rather than 4th). I've had quite a few tests and no problems found. Have you had any tests? At what stage did your other pregnancies fail? Are you under a consultant?

You've done all you can now so just try to relax and get through the next few weeks as best you can. Take vitamins, sleep and do whatever you can to be 'kind to yourself' (hate that expression!)- I have acupuncture but maybe massage or reflexology if you're into that sort if thing?

Also come over to the miscarriage & pregnancy loss board as there are lots of us there who have been through the same thing and always there to offer support
