Hi guys I'm 33+2 with my 2nd baby and I've had really itchy hands, palms of my hands, tops of my feet, an now appearing on my bump, never had this with my first, I've googled and seen it could be OC which I know nothing about, just wondering if many others have had this? I'm going to contact midwife tomorrow morning for bloods, been taking piraton on the evening when it's difficult to sleep with itching, is it possible it could be something else as I doubt I have OC....

You don't know if you have OC unless you have a test for it AFAIK. I'd give your hospital a ring today to see what they say. They may suggest that a blood test is performed sooner rather than later.

I was tested for it on one of my pregnancies (2nd I think) but didn't have it. At this stage in your pregnancy I'd take no chances as there are risks to the baby if you have it.

What makes you think you haven't got OC? Itching of hands and feet is a classic symptom. I would give the ante-natal day unit at the hospital a call today if I were you.

I would call the ante-natal unit today and explain your symptoms. If they want you to go in they can do blood tests and most probably get the results today.

Tbh, if I were in your situation I would be calling them and asking for my blood to be tested today.

Good luck, hope you get to the bottom of it.

Agree with the others, call today, they'd rather people called and checked! :)

I have really itchy hands and did the same as you re google Blush

I phoned the hospital yesterday and they said it was fine to wait until Monday but to see someone then. I've a home visit then so I should be able to be sorted quickly. I'd give them a ring today though in case you can't be seen wuickly

I do get more allergic in pregnancy and I know that's not uncommon either but OC is that serious its worth getting tested

AlphaBeta2012 · 20/01/2013 10:18

I have the same but also itchy all over. I went to dr same day and was given blood test straight away. Waiting till monday for results.

Thanks for your comments, I'm going to wait till the morning called nhs direct and the doctor said its ok to wait, my midwifes are really good so I'm sure they'll see me pretty quick, or the hospital in the meantime the piraton is working well
