Feeling baby at 13 weeks?

I am a little dubious about what this is, but for the last few days I have been feeling very odd sensations in my abdomen that I can?t equate with anything I?ve ever felt before. A kind of throbbing sensation, but with no particular rhythm, moving in a fairly enclosed space. It?s been happening at around the same time each night and once or twice during the day. I have been bloated and gassy on and off but this feels completely different ? in fact, the bloat seems to be above my belly button, while this strange sensation is a few inches above my pelvic bone...

I had abdominal surgery on an ovarian cyst a couple of years ago. At the time the gynaecologist remarked that I had an unusual amount of sensation in my abdomen, as I was able to feel that something was amiss when apparently I should not have been able to feel anything. That?s continued ever since ? i.e. I know when I?m ovulating, and I feel twinges in the scar tissue and on my left ovary on a regular basis.

Bearing that in mind, do you think what I?m feeling is the baby moving about, or just really weird gas?

Could well be the baby. I felt both of mine at about that stage although everyone said it was too soon.

Everything is shifting and changing in there and you prob are feeling all that ratr than the "baby as such.

I felt dc1 at 15 weeks and this one from 11.5 weeks. I'd be surprised if its baby if its your first, but certainly not impossible!

You're probably right, givemeaclue - getting dressed this morning I noticed the hard little bulge in my abdomen is working its way up to bellybutton at an alarming rate! Little gremlin...

I started feeling mine (2nd pregnancy) around 13-14 weeks, so could definitely be the baby.

I would normally say nooo, far too soon, but I felt something weird last night and thought it was fetal movement...
I am only 10+3, it is my 5th pregnancy though if that makes any odds. TMI but was on the toilet and read that if you lean forward at the end of a pee it encourages the bladder to completely empty thereby reducing toilet trips, (who knows if this works but am willing to give it a go!) and I felt a teeny tiny "pop/flutter" in my uterus area.

Yes, I reckon you're right, felt ds from 12 wks ish.

Thundercatz · 18/01/2013 20:21

I've been feeling exactly what you're describing from around 11 weeks and it's my first. It seems crazy but it's like no other sensation ive ever felt - like a little pulse/flutter!
