Measurements above 90th centile on scans?

My baby's abdomen is measuring 94th centile at 25 weeks. I'm T1 diabetic and this is common amongst babies to diabetic mums but I was wondering how many others have had high measurements like this and at what stage? My last DSs stomach went off the chart...there can be complications and so I'm fretting I suppose!

Hi. My baby is measuring in the 95 percentile, I'm 36+4 and not diabetic. Haven't had any problems, it started with his stomach but he's measuring big all over now, my bump is measuring 40cm, which is big. This is my first pregnancy. I haven't had any problems and the consultants don't seem worried, I've had one or two extra scans though.
Hope this reassures you a bit?! I get so many comments about the size of the bump, people can be so rude!!!

My ds measured between 91 and 99 centile on every measure on every scan right from 20 weeks. I had extra scans and the gestational diabetes tests etc but all was fine. One consultant said they look at the curve (whether they are increasing or decreasing of their normal centiles from other scans) and whether all measures taken are in similar range, as well as other things, to decide if its of concern.

He is still up in the 90 something centile in height and weight at 16mo, some babies are just made big. Someone has to be at the top of the range and it may be no cause for alarm.

Are your babies other measures up in the 90s too?

If you are concerned perhaps request a meeting with a consultant/midwife/radiographer to discuss the latest scan, and to put your mind at ease.

Thanks for your replies. No the other measurement are less so it's just the stomach out of kilter that's leapt from 57th centile at 20 weeks to 94th centile at 25 weeks! I'm at the hospital Monday so hopefully can discuss it then. Me and DH are both very tall though so perhaps a bit of it is that. Also I've heard the stomach is the first thing to 'spurt' in a growth spurt, as mentioned by Simba?

And yes people can be bloody rude about bumps! It's v annoying!

I hope everything goes ok for you at the hospital, I'm sure it will! For my baby it was his stomach measuring big at 20 week scan but 2/3 weeks later the rest of him has caught up and he was measuring big all over!! Relax and remember if the midwives/doctors are concerned they will tell you. Look after yourself and baby! X
