Is this kicking or movement?

So am almost 21 weeks. Had 20 week scan, all was dandy.

So this sensation, really weird, usually around one or both hips. TMI alert but the only thing I think I can compare it to is if you have a dicky tummy and it's feels gripping or queasy. I keep feeling like I want to tense my (non-existent, lol) muscles but I don't. It's happening often, a few times an hour, keeps me up at night. Not painful but am very aware of it, stops me in my tracks.

Is this kicking, or maybe some sort of movement? First pregnancy, am totally ignorant to what is normal or not Blush

It could well be, the first movements are easy to attribute to something else without realising what they are :) there's a good chance if you're 20 weeks and are feeling them by your hips - there's probably nothing else in that space at the moment!

As time goes on you'll probably start to notice more defined periods of movement, and the difference between kicks, punches, hiccups and somersaults becomes more obvious.

Thanks. It's definitely weird, that's for sure. Kinda uneasy. Hopefully as the baby comes up they will move away from the inside hips a bit as it's a bit queasy feeling.

That's what mine felt like at about 24 weeks, i wouldn't worry, you'll want these back when kicks start in your ribs :-)

That's exactly what mine feel like a lot of the time. I have the hourly question of 'is that the baby kicking or do I have wind'? Hmm

Heehee! Thanks very much Smile

It's reassuring to know as it's such a weird sensation to feel when you've never been pregnant before.
