This is going to sound crazy. But last week I started to loose what looked like the mucus plug, I also had pains too, then had nothing since other than lots of creamy normal cm, however today got cramps again midday and when I went to toilet there was another blob of the jelly again, had pains all day that includes backache and a tight heavy squeezing feeling in bottom of my belly, just been to toilet and again another lump of it this time however was blood in it too. I know what the plug looks like cause I've had 2 kids and started loosing it at 26wk with ds2. But so early really dusnt seem normal. I'm going to ring epu tomorow, but worried they won't see me, as last time I bled (6wks) they wouldn't see me. Has anyone had anything like this? Don't think its looking too good :(

hello beckie love x

No advice but hand-holding here with you, try to not panic, get some rest and then get on to the EPU first thing and get yourself seen. (have you had sex in the last couple days? TMI but Could it be a bit of erosion plus some leftover semen?)

Oh dear, how worrying, poor you. I've had some sort of manky jelly discharge at various points of this pregnancy but never with blood in.

I'd turn up at the EPU and tell them your symptoms. They might not have been able to see much at 6 weeks but now it is a different matter. Is it possible for you to go along? I've always been seen when I've turned up (although the hospital near work has specific times you need to keep to, or you have to wait till the next session in a few hours, so it's worth checking the website.)

Good luck. Hope all is alright. Will be crossing my fingers for you.

Hi ruby no they don't let you turn up there, you have to go through a+e which takes forever, so going to ring them in morning and really Express my concerns and demand to be seen, I have my 12wk scan but its not til 29th so thats really too long for me to just wait and see xx

They won't let you turn up? I have been through A&E too and they were great, rushed me through to the EPU and got me seen even though the EPU was not technically open. It did take longer to go through triage in A&E but at least I did get seen.

So sorry you're having such a worrying time. I hope you do manage to get seen tomorrow.

I had something similar a few times during my second pregnancy - I went straight to the gp and she dd an internal to check the cervix was still closed. May be best to go there?

beckie90 · 16/01/2013 21:11

No you either have to ring them up first or be reffered through gp or a+e its silly how it works. If they don't want to see me when I ring I'm just going to have to really go angry with them because the pain especially dusnt feel right. It's more than just the usual stretching/growing pain. Thankyou me too x

Hi sunny my gp is an old man and last time I went with pain he just orderd hcg blood test, so don't think he would be much help. Thankyou though xx

In that case, I'd say A&E. Explain you're in pain and you've bled. If they see you for a swollen ankle at A&E, they can bloody well see you for something potentially wrong with your pregnancy. Let us know how you are when you get seen. X

MrsHoarder · 16/01/2013 21:36

No need to get angry at the medical staff, they can't help the system. Just go to A&E in the morning (when its reasonably quiet) and politely explain what's going on and that you need referring to the EPU. Its in their interest to deal with you quickly, so unless its busy you should be there in no time rather than having stress of trying to fight the system.

And take a good book.

Hope all goes well and that they can reassure or help you tomorrow.

beckie90 · 16/01/2013 21:52

I mean cause I'm already in care with epu now, so rightfully they should see me cause I've had 3 episodes of bleeding previous to this. I was under there care before too but they refused to see me regardless of if I went through a+e or not, thats what I meant by getting angry so they should not refuse me but already have, I should have explained that better before. So thats why I'd be angry with them, cause rightly I can ring and ask to be seen by them, although can't just turn up still. Thankyou x
