Knickers don't fit any suggestions?

34 weeks and have got to the point where my knicker elastic is cutting into the bottom of my bump. Can't work out if its due to the large quantity of cake I have consumed and I just need a bigger size, or if I need to invest in hideously expensive below the bump knickers from the likes of Mothercare. I just want to be comfortable!

I recommend enormous big pants from a supermarket. Maybe in a size bigger than normal. They go up over your bump and keep it snug :)

CityDweller · 15/01/2013 18:07

I switched to 'bikini' style knickers (usually wear boyshort style) at about 24 wks. They sit below my bump and don't create too bad an overhang at hips. From M&S. 2 sizes up from what I usually wear (and I haven't even put on that much weight during pg!

Imnotaslimjim · 15/01/2013 18:08

I agree with Happy, but trying wearing them back to front - there is more room at the back of them for your bump

lightrain · 15/01/2013 18:09

Big pants. Go 2 sizes up and they fit over your bump. Also good for hospital in case you end up with c section. You need big pants then.

worsestershiresauce · 15/01/2013 18:33

I'm wearing my usual M&S ones, they are low rise and have string sides (can't remember name). They sit below bump so have been completely unaffected by my changing shape.

WhatWouldCaitlinDo · 15/01/2013 18:38

I got v low slung ones of the type that 19 year olds wear, and just went up a size or two. The sat below my bump and had nice patterns etc.

WhatWouldCaitlinDo · 15/01/2013 18:38

PS from TopShop and Primark.

PickleSarnie · 15/01/2013 18:39

Agree with the suggestions for absolutely mahoosive pants. I got ones that practically came up to my armpit. They were fab if hideously ugly.

Considering using them as contraception now.

RuchedCurtain · 15/01/2013 18:41

I just wore primark granny pants in huge size - soo comfy. Or dh's boxers - he didn't like that though!

iklboo · 15/01/2013 18:46

DH's boxers. Sooooo comfy I got some of my own.

stowsettler · 15/01/2013 18:55

Another vote for enormo-knicks 2 sizes up. Lovely and comfy. M&S better than Asda, btw.

Twattybollocks · 15/01/2013 19:10

Mmmm big knickers are great! I'm wearing asda full briefs in a size up from what I normally wear

AmandaCooper · 15/01/2013 19:13

Lol @ some of these replies! Is it normal to burst out if your knickers then? I have been stuffing my face a bit. Have long since abandoned all concern about VPL but I think DH's boxers under my trousers might be a step too far! Will head to Primark tomorrow. Grin

Buy giant, cheap, cotton knickers - wear them now and then wear them after the birth instead of disposables.

Bin them all asap.

Msbluesky32 · 15/01/2013 19:18

A vote for m and s from me. I found some nice ones in their three for a tenner range. They are model cotton with no side seam ( so don't dig into your sides) and sit just below bump.

BikeRunSki · 15/01/2013 19:20

Big, black Primark pants in the biggest size they do. One of those cheapie multipacks. Then wear them postnatally and bin em!

BikeRunSki · 15/01/2013 19:20

x post Piprabbit. We is talking sense.

Locketjuice · 15/01/2013 19:24

I found big ones uncomfy ended up wearing low rise thongs under my bump wayyyyy more comfortable!!!!

AnitaBlake · 15/01/2013 19:30

Mens trunks, big waistband so no cutting in and generous at the front, so plenty of room too.

Another vote for Giant Pants here. In fact, DD is 18 months old and I still wear Giant Pants. I had no idea they were so comfortable until I bought some during pregnancy.

dizzy77 · 15/01/2013 20:42

Cheap supersize underbump bikinis here too. Several of Primarni's finest and also m&s (the slightly more expendice ones, maybe £7 for 5 but they have lycra).

I bought the Primark ones as they were the same price as disposables and just last week binned the last pair as the cheap elastic is not coping with my second pregnancy - DS is 19 months.

AmandaCooper · 15/01/2013 21:52

Armi this is a worry - I may never go back to my stylish pre pregnancy thong days!
