Big boobs in third trimester...

I am currently being driven crazy by my boobs!!! I am 32 weeks and my boobs have gotten bigger than they already were (I was 32FF before pg!!). My problem isn't the size, I got measured and my bras fit perfectly, but where my bump is so big, the bottom part of my boobs rubs against bump whenever I sit or lean forward! It's sooooo uncomfortable and after a week of this have now developed a rash!! My bras fit fine though, so I don't understand what I can do!! I am honestly on the verge of tears, don't even want to get dressed. Has anyone else ever had this?? What did you do to ease pain?

Please help, am at the end of my tether, my poor bump is so sore and red :(

Maybe some barrier cream such as sudocrem would help?

What about bodyglide?

Or could try a different, softer bra, but if they all rub then that's probably not a solution.

Have you tried a vest/camisole?
I wore a sleep bra, then one of those over the top, it created a barrier between my boobs and bump so stopped them rubbing.
Something like this?

Its not cheap, but can also be used for nursing. I got loads of wear out of mine, and still wear them now

That looks good I'll buy one when I get paid. Thanks for all advice - I have been using moisturiser but that only seems to soothe for a short time. Got lots of different maternity and nursing bras, doesn't seem to matter which material, still painful! I'd just not expected this, never heard anyone else complain of it.

I had this too. DH is actually a GP and was pretty sure I'd developed a fungal infection of the skin. He was right. He said it's not that uncommon as the warm environment and the fact I was sweating more. I needed an anti-fungal cream, which cleared it up nicely so might be worth making an appointment with your GP.

KnackeredCow · 15/01/2013 10:13

DH says the cream is call Daktacort - you can get it over the counter at the chemist, but if you have it prescribed you'll get it for nowt under your maternity exemption and, of course your GP can check that's what it definitely is. The fungal infection's called intertrigo.

Isnt there a cream you cant get now to stop chaffing?

Yes there is, Lanacane
