....but if you had these symptoms, what would you suspect??

  • soreness/burning in genital area
  • some stinging on urinating
  • odd ache/pains reminiscent of UTI type pain
  • excessive creamy discharge
  • a general feeling of being uncomfortable down there

I'm thinking thrush, but I've not bad it before. It's been going on for a while now and at 22+2 I've had enough. Going to see the GP tomorrow but wondering what the
MN jury thinks???

Thrush or urine infection? You do get extra discharge in pregnancy

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 14/01/2013 21:42

Could be, best go to see the GP though

AliceWChild · 14/01/2013 21:43

The aches and pains can also be ligament stretching. Go to drs though.

MrsBungleBear · 14/01/2013 21:45

I'd suggest thrush and/or UTI. You need to see the doctor. Hope you get it sorted.

mildred37 · 14/01/2013 21:47

Thanks for the replies. Had a UTI nearly 2 weeks ago now so hoping its not back Sad i didn't like taking the antibiotics at all. Will see if I can get an appointment tomorrow.

I have all that the moment and been told suspected thrush (waiting for results from swabs) and I also think I have UTI too (because of kidney pain). I'd say thrush and/or UTI. Definitely get checked by GP. Let us know how you get on

DeathMetalMum · 14/01/2013 22:07

I have just had swabs back for theese symptoms and confirmed thrush. Though more itching than sore/stinging.

I have found getting as much air to the area as possible helps, also nothing to restrictive such as tights or leggings as this makes the irritation worse.

NoTeaForMe · 14/01/2013 22:08

As your pregnant and been on antibiotics it's pretty likely to be thrush as both of those things increase the chnce I thrush, let alone both at the same time!

Could also have a UTI though, especially as yu had one recently, maybe it didn't clear. If in doubt see a dr!

mildred37 · 15/01/2013 11:54

Been to the GP who diagnosed thrush. She gave me a vaginal peasant and hydrocortisone cream (currently in the fridge!) so hopefully this is where the uncomfortableness ends! Thanks for all your messages and advice xx

Witchofthenorth · 15/01/2013 13:51

I actually snorted out loud when I read vaginal peasant!!! Grin

I would have said thrush also, its pretty much gauranteed (sp?) after taking antibiotics...so much so that if I am prescribed antibiotics I get the doctor to prescribe me a pessary at the same time.

mildred37 · 15/01/2013 21:23

Oh crap....so after inserting the pessary, I read up online and it says not to use the applicator if pregnant....I should have looked online first dammit! Now I'm really worried I've pushed it up too far and will cause problems. Bloody GP didn't tell me not to use it!
