This is my second pregnancy and I have been having some spotting/bleeding over the last week.

I had an extremely premature labour with my first pregnancy and sadly my son died as a result. They think I may have an incompetant cervix which they will monitor more closely as I get further along.

Due to this I am being much more closely monitored this time round so coincidently had a scan booked last Tuesday (When the bleeding started). The scan showed no obvious reason for bleeding, and a happy, healthy 9 week foetus wriggling around with a good strong heartbeat. The doctor knows my history, and is lovely, and said while this is an encouraging sign the scan can onyl show how the baby is NOW and is no guarentee for for future. I have another scan tomorrow.

Sorry if this next bit is TMI, all week I have been passing a lot of very dark brown mucus and a small amount of pinkish blood. Anyone any idea what this could be? Other than the ultrasounds of the baby, are there any other tests I should be asking for? I am really really anxious and feel totally helpless.

By "Sorted" I of course meant "needed".

I just found your post and dont want to read and run, I know how terrifying bleeding can be and to lose your son must have been awful. I dont really know how to reassure you, but if you are having regular scan and they are keeping an eye on you, that is a good thing. Im here and thinking of you xxx

Did the bleeding start before or after the scan?
