28+5 - total exhaustion has hit

Urgh. Anyone else? Have basically been feeling grand all pregnancy (no ms, no sore boobs, no tiredness), but now I seem to have been completely floored by physical exhaustion. I was already feeling tired last last week, but we went out on Saturday night for a friend's birthday - we didn't stay out too late but I was on my feet in a pub all night. We left around 11.30 and got home about 12.30 (opposite side of London) and I seriously thought I was going to die from tiredness on the way home.

I've been fine up to now with the occasional late night. It took me almost the whole day yesterday to recover but even when I went to bed at 9pm I still felt physically drained with heavy-feeling legs and like I have a weight on my back (mentally I feel ok actually).

Does this sound anything like normal? How am I going to manage for another 11 weeks???

Are you taking iron? I had this, turned out I was very anaemic, three days on iron and it is getting better! Your 28 week bloods will tell you for sure, but might be worth starting something??

Hadn't thought of iron... I'm taking a standard pregnancy supplement - would it have to be a bigger dose than that?

Hey, I was at your stage last week and felt exactly the same! Touch wood I think I've had a fairly good pregnancy so far, had quite a bit of sickness but managed to cope with it. But last half of last week I was exhausted, at the weekend I've been having naps, 2 hours sometimes! Then still feel tired in the evening. My iron levels are really good after being told by 2 midwives. I think sometimes it can just creep up on you and take you by surprise, especially if you've been feeling ok. I know for me, I get fed up of telling people I feel tired. Dont be too hard on yourself, have some rest and relax. Good luck
