Hello,

I've got my booking in appointment next week and I'll be roughly 11 weeks. What should I expect and will the midwife hear the heartbeat?!

Lots of questions about your health, previous pregnancies (successful or not), questions about your family and OH's medical history, weight, BP, urine dip and bloods taken.

HB may be listened to at 16 weeks, but usually not before. Depends on area, some don't do it until post 20 weeks.

It is lots of form filling and chatting about health.

I'd agree with pp, lots of questions to answer about yours and families medical history. I think we heard hb at the appointment after 12 week scan, which was only a week after I think.

And I meant to say not long til your scan now (week Monday?) hope you're feeling ok!

She/he will want to fill in a huge form of questions with you - your brain will be fried after all the questions. You will then be handed this and told to carry it with you everywhere. I was weighed too.

I had my booking in appt last week. It was the biggest amount of paperwork imaginable, a uring test and blood tests. She also measured my height and weight (not great, need to see consultant at 20weeks because I'm fat!!) The midwife also phoned up and booked my scan for me, but that could be because I was already 13 weeks (doctor forgot to do the refferal-twice)

It took just over an hour.
