post pregnancy how long till your first period?? [worried]

so i dont know if this is even the correct place but i gave birth on the 18/11/2012 bleed for 2.5 weeks (tmi sorry) but still havn't come on,
im waiting to start the pill, im using condoms for now but had a drunken night and forgot a few weeks ago.
Really worried i have done a test and neg but i could of took it too early, it wouldn't be so bad but i have 4 children and my eldest is 5 i dont think im even nearly ready for another or if i even want anymore, i wouldnt even concider abortion but i know my d/p doesn't want anymore for a long time or even ever deffo not yet, anyway just stressing,probably worrying over nothing.

my question is how long was it before your first period after birth, not including the bleed strait away. im sure id had it already with all my others.

Might depend if you're breastfeeding. I had none until 9 to 12 months after my dc were born

My ds is almost 8 months old and I've not had my period yet. Mind you I am breastfeeding.

With my last baby it was over 12 weeks before my period returned. Are you breast feeding? If you are they tend not to return for a while - sometimes it can be a year, I think. I'm not certain because I bottle fed but it was still around 13 weeks for me.

I remember panicking because I have a friend who gave birth 2 weeks earlier and she texted me to tell me that she was pg again. I thought, "omg, she knows she's pg - I haven't had a period! How would I know?" But no, it was fine!

With ds1 it was 8 months and he was bottle fed from 6 weeks. After ds2 it came back after 17 weeks and he was exclusively breast fed

DD1 16 months, bf till 8 months
DS 4 months, bf till 1 month
DD2 14 months, bf till 3.5. Got pregnant with dd4 the very next month
DD3 14 months, still bf

It varies I suppose

Period came 8 weeks after birth, but didn't bf at all

Never had one between dd and ds1, conceived when she was 9m

12 months after ds1

17 months after ds2

I breastfeed all of them for 12m, 30m and 34m respectively.

Just had DC3, 22 months between 1 & 2 and 2 & 3.

I haven't had a period since before DC1 was conceived (she's 4 in March)!

I have BFed all of them though.

My period started week 6/7 after I gave birth, I hate it :(

About a year, but was still bf.
