Hi everyone

Does anyone know if at around 10 weeks if I would have
A normal Scan or would it be transvaginal?

I had a normal scan at 9weeks and she got a clear scan just make sure you drink looooads of water so your bladders full! :)

I had an early scan at 9+3 which as the normal way Smile

Normal I would think, I had one at 7 weeks that was normal.

It will normally be an external scan if you have a full enough bladder for them to see clearly so do follow the advice to drink around a litre of water roughly an hour before. Do adjust this a bit so you are comfy (need to go to the loo but not desperate).

If you do not have a full bladder then this can mean they can't get a good enough view so they may offer you an internal scan instead.

May also do an internal scan if you are not as far along as expected because it is easier to see more in early pregnancy.

Like with anything it is still your choice but there is not meant to be any harm to the baby from either.

Hope it goes ok.

Likely to start with external scan abs

Usually an abdominal one but I have an inverted womb, so always an internal scan for me until after 12/13 weeks - a bit uncomfortable but nothing major.
