Pregnant 6 weeks - Menstruation feeling normal?

Hi
I just found out at the beginning of the week that after 2 years and 3 month trying I'm finally pregnant.
I'm now 5+4 weeks..

My question is. Is it normal that you have the systompns as if your Mens is coming. I have it since I found out but today the stretching is worse. Do I have to worry... I'm scared that I will be loosing it..

Can someone tell me if they had the feeling too but everything was fine

I am currently only 11 + 2 so not home and dry however I had that feeling too. All pmt symptoms and period like cramps that moved on to be more like stretching and almost popping in my stomach muscles. Good luck.

I'm also only 9 weeks but had something very similar between about 5 - 7 weeks. Saw the midwife yesterday and she said it's very normal. The only time you should worry is if it's really severe cramping, particularly if it's combinedwith bleeding. It's passed for me, except now my stomach muscles are aching as though I've been doing sit-ups (which I definitely haven't!) Also, apparently, normal. Good luck and congratulations!

I remember lying on the sofa crying at 7 weeks telling my DH I was going to lose the baby because of the pains. I am now 30 weeks, so I was wrong! Everything starts moving and bedding in and stretching and it feels very much period like. Don't worry, as was said unless you have sharp, severe pain, severe cramping and or bleeding you are almost certainly fine.

With the exception of severe cramping and heavy bleeding I think everything is 'normal' in pregnancy and you shouldn't worry (although I know that's impossible!)
I am 16+1 and have had AF style feelings and cramps ever since my BFP. I think it's just everything settling and stretching.
Try to avoid asking Dr Google as he will give you bad advice!
Congratulations and good luck! Grin

I am just 4 wks (found out 3 days ago- thrilledSmile) and was just thinking the same thing this morning when I got up. Cramps and general menstruation feeling. This is my no 2- I think it's normal. Good luck :)

Hi, I had trouble conceiving and when I finally fell pregnant, I was worried when I had cramps and twinges - especially as it seemed more than normal. But all the books and advice say that this is normal - your uterus is beginning to stretch, and these twinges are normal if you consider how much it is preparing to do!

Am now 31+3 and all is well, so chances are it will be the same for you!

If you begin bleeding heavily (clots, fresh red blood), then ask for an early scan - but until then I reckon you should just SMILE. Congratulations. Grin

Really normal. Try not to worry and just remember for today you are pregnant! Many many congratulations, must feel like a little miracle.

Lots of stretching and odd sensations, some a bit painful, to come. So long as there's no bleeding or severe pain then usually all is fine. The progesterone that sustains early pregnancy is the same as the rise you get before your period which is why you feel the same and worry your period is coming.

I had loads of stretching with both DS and this pregnancy (27+0) and all has been fine. I had a mc at 5 weeks earlier this year and strangely didn't get it then.
All the best for an uneventful pregnancy.

Hi this is very normal, I had it with both my pregnancies. It's caused by your uterus getting bigger and stretching to make a lovely cosy home for your little baby!! Big congrats on the pregnancy, it's an amazing experience so try not to worry and enjoy every second xxx
