Pregnancy notes: Private Midwife- how does it work for IM?

Evening all. For a number of very sensible personal reasons I'm looking to get an IM. Do you know what happens in terms of NHS notes for previous births and how an IM records their notes? Does the IM contact the NHS.....does the IM give hand held notes too?

Your IM will make her own notes that you get to keep after the baby is born. The IM will contact the NHS to let them know that she has taken over your care. Hope that helps!
