Lumbar pain at 11 weeks?

Just 11 weeks pg, and have had immobilising low back pain the last three days. Suspect it's muscular - helps to lie down an elevate knees and bands of muscle on either side of spine further up are knotted up - but wondering if anyone else has had this this early in pg due to relaxing tendons / things shifting around? If so, did you find anything that helped it or did it go away on its own? Thanks.

Yes I have this, off and on and have since about the same time as you. IT hasn't gone away exactly but some days its hardly there at all and others its quite bad. Is this your first pg? Someone did suggest that in a 2nd or subsequent pg it was normal for things to loosen up earlier. I do find sitting for long periods, especially in the car, makes things worse, and sitting on my horse with my legs dangling lower than stirrups helps a lot. Neither of these discoveries helps me much as I can't avoid the former or spend all day doing the latter Grin. My midwife did say it was perfectly normal and not to worry. Sorry to hear you've got it, but at least you're not alone.

Thanks for the reply. It is my first pg to have gotten this far (2 early mc), but I have had back issues in the past and my core muscles are in rotten shape, so maybe I'm badly prepared. If it is normal in pg, though, perhaps the MW will have something to suggest when I see them. Good to know I'm not alone, anyway!
