Hi everyone,

So I've been impatiently waiting for the fluttering / quickening / butterflies (I'd love it to be butterflies, that's how I used to feel when I flirted with a guy I really fancied - yes yes yes I love & flirt with my husband, the butterflies have long gone though, I love love LOVE butterflies) - anyway I have had such annoying gas / air / constipation that honestly I've had popping, movement and what not for MONTHS! So I wasn't hopeful that it would happen for a while (I'm 17+3).

I'm just wondering where you feel the movement. Is it just above the pelvic bone, at the bottom of what is my gas filled tent-like bump? Last night there was a lot going on and I put my hand on my belly, pressed down a bit to feel my uterus and felt something against my fingers, like an involuntary muscle spasm, definitely not gas. More like a strong pulse you might feel in an artery (whenever it is you feel that). I was sure it was a kick, but now I'm not so sure. I am still very excited, but do feel free to burst the bubble, I'd rather be sure of what I was feeling!!

I feel them all over between my belly button and pubic bone. I've noticed a pulse since about 16 weeks, especially in the bath!

Movement is very different from the pulse. For me it started like being tickled from the inside. First felt it when I sat down on a busy night shift and had a cold drink. I was about 18 weeks then. It's definitely more of an Ooh, is that movement?! than Wow it's kicking!. Kicks I felt from about 19-20 weeks. These have gradually got more distinctive and noticeable from the outside from about 23 weeks. Movement is very different. It sometimes feels like when your stomach flips with nerves. At times it's felt like a ship groaning from side to side (I guess as baby rolled over?!). Hth.
