Hyperemesis Support

We need a new thread.

I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

I used to include extracts from MOH's wonderful website
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
but I think that makes this link less visible so am merely putting the link. The information on this site is invaluable.

I would like to thank MOH MOP Ovaltine Caramellokoalalover (I think she's changed her nickname) Fluffy, Horsey Kali and Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.

I'm drinking peach squash too! Only thing I want to drink and sometimes keep down. Weirdly I'd never tried it before, and randomly picked up a bottle a fair few months ago. Every time I've gone to hospital my bottle of peach squash comes with me.

How was everyone's Easter day?

Ha ha same here waves everywhere I go I have a multi pack of plain crisps and a bottle of peach squash! I really hope your treatment starts to ease a little soon and you find it a bit easier.

And yes ladies I agree, Hero's we are.

And honeymoon don't ever think like that, it doesn't matter how many times you are sick or how severe your symptoms are its still the most miserable existence ever!

I know even tho I'm not being sick as many times now I still feel awful because I can't eat much food and you just feel generally drained, so I can understand how you feel.

Thanks princess. I do feel pretty f ing crap. DH just brought me a cheese and pickle sandwich (which I'd stupidly thought I might be able to eat) and was violently sick at sight of it. Sense of smell also gone insane today with shower gel and shampoo making me heave. Peach squash sounds bad at moment but if u all swear by it. I can manage water or weak orange lemon and pineapple. Off to catch some zzzz to try and get through this day faster (moan sigh groan!)

How do you all cope?! I feel incredibly selfish because I want my little boy out sooner rather than later. I don't know how to get through each day at the moment!

Kw2013 I think none of us has a choice. It's hell. I'm finding this forum a good support as otherwise so isolating and u feel a freak for being SO ill during a supposedly natural process?!

I wish I had found it a lot sooner :( I'm really struggling at the moment.. Because he is pushing down so much when I am violently sick it makes me wee (sorry tmi) and I am just so so tired, really don't want to go hospital again unless he is coming (been hospitalised on a drip 11 times) .. Sorry to moan.. Feeling very sorry for myself today! Really hope I don't go over due cant take much more being sick :( ... I understand the freak feeling, nobody really seems to understand!

How many weeks are you kw2013? Poor you, you must be past 20 weeks as you know it's a boy. I have felt better by 22 weeks with DC1 and 17 weeks DC2. Are you on medication? Most of the ladies on here are more seasoned HG sufferers than me as I am one of the lucky ones who manages enough fluids to stay out of hospital. Having said that, feel like I should be there a lot of the time as feel so weak and ill as unable to eat. Chin up everyone. We're in it together :)

36 + 3 so praying it is all over soon! (I know that sounds horrible obviously as long as he is healthy that is the main thing!) .. With my daughter I had HG and was admitted once but it stopped at 15/16 weeks.. This time it has been hell, everyone kept promising it would go away soon and it just never did :( I have a lot of different medications but they don't really control it very well :(
Sickness is horrible no matter where you are, I really feel for you and anyone with HG has I know it is the worst thing ever :(

Just nipping back in quickly.

Sorry to hear how rough everyone is feeling. Although I have not been out of hospital just over two weeks and managing to eat and drink normally I feel incredibly lethargic and exhausted. 12+1 now and not really seeing any improvement. I need to go docs tomorrow for a repeat of the cyclizine and I'm really tempted to get signed off work another few weeks. The few shifts I have done I've been pretty useless.

When will I know it's the right time to stop the medication? I don't think it's helping how rough I feel so don't want to be on it longer then necessary.

KS Welcome. I am so sorry you are still suffering like that so late on. Never worry about tmi on here, the horrors of The Bile Run, peed on bathroom floors and what things taste like on the way back up all go with the affliction. Everyone You poor things, everyone seems to be in a state.
I'm just off to start a new thread on this and create a link as we're out of space, back soon.

We've got a new homewww.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1721880-Hyperemesis-Support as there's only eight posts left here. I've got a supply of virtual cushions over there.
