How often do you have appointments?

I'm 35 weeks with dd1 and have a high risk pregnancy. I've seen my midwife a few weeks ago before christmas, had a consultant appointment but then I only have 1 midwife appointment left now which is right before my due date and I've been told my baby may be prem. wondering if this sounds about right or whether others have more regular appointments?

Sounds average. Might be off if HR, but Id ask GP if very worried. Or call midwife supervisor?

You should be seen every week from 36 weeks, that's how it is done in my area, if you feel worried contact your midwife x

I'm on first pregnancy and low risk, now 35 weeks. Had appointment with mw at 34 and will see her again at 36, 38, 40 & 41

HR/complicated anyway! I have been seen 9/16/21/25/28 and have 30 week booked, likely to be 32/34/36/37/38(x2) plus I've had 4 day unit and 2 Physio appts. I'm getting bored of going to the hospital plus it's costing a fortune!

If you are high risk your consultant should have said when you should next be seen at your last appointment. It may be that the midwife will then make further appointments to see you again. But I would phone the midwife if you are not sure.

In our area after 34 weeks we were seen every week alternating between GP and Midwife. To be honest the GP ones felt like a waste of time but when I accidentally forgot to book in my 36 wk appointment with the doctor till it was too late the Midwife was very cross with me at my 37wk appointment. That was in 2011 and low risk pregnancy.

She said no more consultant appointments to be made and I mentioned I only had 1 midwife appointment left just before due date (if I get that far) and they didn't say more needed to be made. Maybe it's just my area.. Yet i know people who were low risk who had one apt per week! I'll ring tomorrow to double check it all! Thanks for the responses.

Ive had weekly midwife appointments from 20 weeks due to pre existing high blood pressure. At 37 weeks and bp has been better controlled and lower during pregnancy than before

We have a table of when all your appointments ahould be in our notes. I have a 32week appintment next week and then fortnightly after that. One at 40 weeks then 41. Last time my MW booked me in for 40+10 luckily went in to labour ward a day before.

I'm HR but have been following the usual schedule above, however some appointments have been with the consultant rather than the mw. Helpfully in my notes they usually write when they next want to see me, especially if it's different (I didn't have to see GP at 31wks for example as I was seeing consultant at 32) - there should be a box on the right for "next appointment". If notes are standardised across the country (mine are a yellow book) then the standard schedule should be on the first page.

I'm high risk. For the last 8 weeks being scanned every 2 weeks. Also have the option to see midwife inbetween.

Scanned yesterday with consultant and then seeing midwife next week as will tie in with whooping cough vaccinations (27 weeks).

We also have the option to phone midwifes whenever needed so if I have pain/worries inbetween I can ring and talk to one of them at anytime.

I would think even if you haven't been given a midwife appointment you could ask for one if is anything you want to discuss face to face? I'd give them a ring and arrange to meet up.

No we have purple notes and there's no schedule like that. Yours sound much better! Rang midwife and she said the one appointment is correct as they cover such a wide area due to hospital closures :( appointments are also impossible to make - she's got nothing for another 4 weeks! Hopefully everything will go smoothly from here. Thanks for all the replies.
