I also have an Alfie & am most definitely NOT a chav! I have always thought it was a really cute name & it suits my DS2 perfectly.

Sam or Tom. Not Alfie (sorry Blush )

dinosaure · 21/04/2006 14:42

Alfie

They are all perfectly pleasant names but - for example in my ds's class there are 6, yes SIX boys called Thomas. And 3 in my younger ds's class! So you have to be prepared for that. Up here, I only know 1 Sam, but I know 4 Alfies over the past 4 years. None of them have remotely 'chav' parents by the way.

Agree that Alfie has become over popular recently, probably due to Alfie Moon in Eastenders.
He came into EE just after my DS2 was born & we very nearly changed his name because of this (well that & the fact MIL burst into the song "What's it all about Alfie?" everytime she looked at him!!), but couldn't think of an alternitive name that we liked!

Well blueteddy my ds is hopelessly attached to his blueteddy, so much so that we would consider calling another ds blueteddy. And why not?!

IME best to wait til the baby is born..

we hadn't decided for sure..then decided on samuel when he was 2 days old (feeling under pressure from family/friends to actually name him..heehee),then a week or so later decided it didn't suit him and changed our minds again..lol
