We are thinking about Marcus if our's is a boy (Lydia Rose for a girl)
I teach at a scondary scool, the kids like Alfie, Brandon, Maddison & Raymond. The yr 10 are especially vocal about it!
Josh, Jack and Calum are popular where we are.

Kerry or Gerry?

mark my words, these will all be back in the top 50 in the next 10 years

Mercy · 19/04/2006 16:54

Thomas (ds' middle name!)

MadameDeMars · 19/04/2006 16:56

I like them all.

Sam makes me think of Lord of the Rings... Sam was the real hero imo

Alfie sounds so cute and makes me think of the book Dogger

Tom is DS1's best friend and has nothing but positive associations for me.

Sorry, can't choose between them. Maybe Sam cos of reasons above.... or maybe Alfie, no Tom, no Sam...........

Nope... no help me!

Think we're gonna go for Samuel James but he will inevitably be known as Sam. Thanks for the replies! X

I used to really like Alfie - but has been overdone. Sam and Tom are both nice.

marthamoo · 20/04/2006 19:43

Ahem..every second boy is not called Sam. It was the 7th most popular boy's name in 2005. And in 1997, when we called our firstborn Sam, it was the 30th most popular name.

Can I help it if everyone follows my trend-setting?

Mandymoo · 20/04/2006 19:43

btw - i'm one of those people who dont actually mind about names being popular. Tbh most of the names i like are common but i would rather have a name i like which is common than choose a "unique" name just to be different. So its defo Sam.................................. or possibly Tom..................................................................
