Weird Symptoms - Unplanned Pregnancy

Hello, I'm new to this although I've been browsing the site for a short period now. Just thought I'd share my story since I did a lot of browsing in regards to my pregnancy symptoms, I was unsure whether or not I was pregnant so finally took the test which came out positive :) initially I was shocked, I even cried (the thought of life drastically changing) but now I'm thrilled and excited!

I was using the contraceptive pill but I am very useless at taking the pills on time. I think the conception happened when I ran out of pills and went to get another set of pills from the doctor, a week late. I was foolish and thought that a week without contraception will not do any harm and it will be unlikely that I will get pregnant anyway - advice to others!!

Anyway my symptoms were rather unusual and this is why I have decided to share. Now my strange behaviour all makes sense...(which started about two weeks ago)

The first unusual aspect was my mood swings - usually depressive. I would stay in bed for extremely long hours (12 hours + - i usually sleep for 8 max) and constantly feel exhausted,at the same time, I was experiencing a loss of appetite, nothing tasted good, no food at all - apart from chip/fries and fruit (not veg). I found it strange because I love food - but I also put it down to maybe cutting out the dessert in my life ( I use to have dessert after every meal) and a result of less sugar in my body.

Around that period, I also fainted whilst preparing food in the kitchen, it felt extremely hot and stuffy although the windows were open and only I was only using a grill. I lost my breath and my body began to sweat.I tried opening the door to lie down on the sofa in the other room but didnt make it and ended up on the kitchen floor. This was extremely unusual as my health is fine. But again I put it down to not eating well enough.

I was suppose to have my withdrawal (period) by 02/01/13, which did not happen. Being on the pill for 5 years, I have always had a regular withdrawal and when this didn't happen - I thought it was because I had taken my pills incorrectly...which then turned into oops maybe I am pregnant by the 04/01/13.

The feeling of losing my appetite is still with me, but I have learnt to cope by eating small meals more regularly. I would often get hungry every 2-3 hours. The thought of food would make me feel quesy, when I ate, I would eat a small amount and still feel hungry and sick afterwoods, It's like nothing can get rid of that hungry feeling so why not just stay hungry? I would go to sleep feeling hungry and wake up two-three times during the night feeling hungry. That's when I was beggining to wonder...am I pregnant? Now I eat before I go to bed and as soon as I wake up.

Earlier this week, I noticed that my boobs have gone bigger and softer. During my period, my boobs do not get sore so I haven't experience that pregnancy symptom.

Personally, I found that I did have some symptoms of pregnancy, however, I thought each symptom could have been the result of something alse in my life.

I would agree with what people say about just having the feeling and knowing that you are...because I did have a strong feeling that I was.

So I hope anyone with similar symptoms may find this useful, no matter how much I read up about symptoms, I was always in doubt as to whether I was or not.

Now I look forward to figuring out how to fit a baby into my life =D
