Ok maybe i am worrying about nothing.. baby number 4 is due in 10 weeks, will be elscs in 9 weeks. yesterday i had 30 week scan to check mostly the bubs brain as # 2 has an abnormal brain.. #1 was 8 1/2 lbs #2 was 9 lb 7oz #3 was 9 lb 3 oz.. but number 4 is only currently 44th centile... I am very scared something is wrong! the scan was normal, no abnormalities found.. just small! i concede not tiny, but small by my normal sizes..anyone else had a random.. small bub?

Try not to worry too much. My DS grew phenomenally in those last weeks. Scans are inaccurate. I was told he would be a big baby - 8lbs. He was 10lb 11oz.

I guess my fear is that the others have been almost spot on for centile at 30 weeks.. i know its a boy and i hope he just hasn't had his big growth spurt yet.. I also know that i should be happy he is healthy and "just below average" .. ut still concerned.

My dd was born at 6lb 12 at 39+6 despite me being nearly 6ft tall and built for comfort. Current baby is also a little tiddler on the 25th centile at the 20wk scan, but is growing normally. Dd is now a perfectly normal 6yo, a bit small, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in strop and volume.

My DS was 4lb 15oz when born at 38 weeks.

He's now a strapping Lad of nearly nine with no lasting effects whatsoever.

Scans are very innacurate when it comes to size. I was told DD would be very small. She was born at 38+5 and weighed 7lb 4oz.

Congratulations Smile

I wouldn't trust the scans to be honest, one hospital said ds2 was fine the other not, he was born on the 0.4th centile at 4lb 14 at 38 weeks.

My first was 7lb 11oz, my second was 8lb 4oz and my third was only 6lb 3oz, which was a bit of a surprise especially as the scan had showed him to be the biggest of my babies yet (it was ob. wrong). My fourth baby was 7lb 14oz, so the sort of weight I would have expected.

There was a thread on here a few weeks ago asking how reliable people thought scans were at predicting baby sizes and if I remember correctly the results of mothers who replied to the thread were about 50/50.
