Worried about flu and sickness bug

Hi everyone

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have had no issues so far, no morning sickness or anything.

However, last week I was off work for 3 days with what I suspect was the flu as I had all the symptoms - aches, sore head, coughing, sneezing, tiredness etc. I've been trying to eat as much fruit and drink fluids but now that I've started feeling more normal again, I've tried to eat dinner but twice have thrown it back up again.

I feel hungry and seem ok with fruit but any proper meals and I suddenly feel hot and sick.

I'm worried if this is affecting my baby, as I've hardly eaten for a week, and whether I should see a doctor or not.

It's my first pregnancy so I'm unsure what's ok an what's not?!

Would appreciate any thoughts or advice :)

Thanks

Hiya just to be clear- Is it not managing to eat that's worrying you? If it's any consolation I had bad morning sickness from 7 until about 20 weeks- both nausea and vomiting- and didnt manage to keep much until half way thru the pregnancy. I lost weight during the first trimester. Was reassured at every turn by midwife and gp that baby would steal all my nutrients and be fine. DD is indeed perfect. Are you managing to stay well hydrated?

Thank HappyHappyHippo, it is the not eating part that I'm worried about, all I've had all week is fruit and yoghurt. I'm just going to try easing myself onto other cold foods, I think it's just hot stuff that I'm sensitive at the moment.

But you've reassured me saying the baby gets nutrients :) I have been trying to drinks loads too, yeah.

Thanks again for your reply, I do feel better so hopefully the sickness will stop.
