Bad luck to keep pram at home before baby??

Anyone else heard of this? Or more to the point does anyone believe it?? Our pram is due to be delivered this Wednesday and people have been asking where we are planning on keeping it as its bad luck to have it in the house before baby arrives?

DH and I shrugged it off and have planned to keep it at our house, will be too much of a faff to go get the car seat bit if we store it elsewhere and I suddenly go into labour!

With my first I was so superstitious I couldn't even bring myself to make up the cot - the pram was at my parent's house, etc. It wasn't superstition as much as the thought of facing it all if I had a still birth.

To be honest I now know I was being STUPID. How could still birth be any worse than it is already and actually I may have even taken comfort from the baby's bedroom and things I don't know.

Anyway I got home from hospital totally overwhelmed, could barely assemble the pram, had to unwrap everything from the packaging and it was a total nightmare and added to the stress of being a first time mum.

Second time unsurprisingly I did the total opposite and found it much better. With my third we will be just moved - or in the process of moving - but to be honest I will prepare as much as I can as early as I can to make sure I make post-baby life easier!

I'd rather have it in my house, so I have it ready and made up when I need it.
Does it apply to cots too? I don't think I would trust DH to put the cot up when I was in hosp.

aren't you supposed to let things breath / wash stuff so the storage/transport/packaging chemicals are gone, especially with things like cots! but also prams I'd suppose
Can't do that if it's not delivered till you need it

The in laws bought pur pushchair for us and we weren't allowed it in the house until baby arrived. It was ok to keep it in the garage as the garage isn't attached to the house. Of course, it is a silly superstition that is gling to have no effect on outcomes but we still followed it!

Rainbowbabyhope I'm so sorry to hear that, I can't imagine the pain you went through.
