Hello

I'm 29 weeks, and have been permanently dying my hair throughout this pregnancy. I googled it, and found no solid research.

legoballoon · 05/01/2013 16:56

Some permanent hair colour does contain lead apparently. Google 'progressive hair colour'.

poocatcherchampion · 05/01/2013 16:56

I dye my hair Thursday, found out I was preg Friday. I did it from 12 weeks last time, might do it once more in between

TinkyPeet · 05/01/2013 16:57

It's no more harmful to dye your hair than it is to bleach the bathroom x

Doinmummy · 05/01/2013 16:58

Being pregnant and colouring hair is absolutely fine! Colour does not seep into your scalp or travel down the hair shaft or affect the baby.

frasersmummy · 05/01/2013 16:59

my hair dresser actually laughed when I said I had heard you shouldnt do this ...

but that was 8 years go so thinking might have changed

GeordieCherry · 05/01/2013 16:59

I did nothing for first 12 weeks; no hair dye (usually a Boots own home kit) & the waxing place wouldn't touch me
I've been getting an Aveda dye since then at a salon & I was flippin glad to be trim of bikini line once more
Congratulations Smile

Wish I had a pound for every time I've said this !!

smiler389 · 05/01/2013 19:33

Thank you! No more grey for me!

I dyed my hair around 4 times with my first - completely healthy pg and baby (now 13 months). Am 8 weeks tomorrow and dyed my hair once last week.

I have been told by doctors there is no research that shoes har dye is harmful.

I use the 10 min ones to minimise how long I'm in contact with the dye.
