37 weeks but last few days the skin on my tumy feels like it is going to tear - similar feeling to an indian burn around the wrist. Moisturiser hasn't worked but it is painful not so much itchy. Anyone else had this?

have you tried cocoa butter?

NotAnOtter · 18/04/2006 18:23

clarins sorry!

I had this and don't remember anything helping, sorry, but it only lasted about a week, I remember thinking it was as if the skin was getting used to a final growth spurt. I had driven 400 miles in the heat of the summer to my auntie's wedding, I sympathise with you. Hang on in ther and in the meantime slather on anything you can get your hands on.

I'm sure it didn't stay with me till the end of my pg, hope it leaves you soon, it really is uncomfartable. I sympathise.

I'm expecting twins and measuring 44cm at 34 weeks, so very stretched, too! Feel like scratching it raw sometimes but it goes red so quickly I'm trying really hard not to.

Moisturising really often is the only thing that seems to help, sorry! Oh and my belly bra so support the weight so it doesn't stretch so much.

I've often thought that must be one of the worst thing with expecting twins- skin just isn't meant to go that far! My friend carried twins to 39 wks and has no stretch marks, I'm hoping this for you too. Good luck!

jabberwocky · 20/04/2006 15:50

ditto the massage oil. that really helped when I was pg with ds.

collyermum · 20/04/2006 16:28

Thanks Bramblina, but too late on the stretch mark front, I just can't work out if I've got new ones or its just the old ones from the last two times getting stretched!! LOL!

And I really hope I don;t get to 39 weeks, I'm huge already!
