I've got a really bad sore throat. Is it okay to take lemsip as I think that is just paracetmol? Also dh has got a bottle of all-in-one Beechams cold remedy and i'm not sure if that's okay. It does say it has paracetemol in it and doesn't mention ibruprofen. Dh has just recovered froma viral throat infection so I think I might have that Sad I've been drinking lots of hot drinks but no help so far!!!TIA

I think you can take the lempsip as long as it doesnt have a decongetant added to it. I dont think you can use the Beechams all-in-one as it will probably have a decongestant in it too which isnt suitable during pregnancy. What about a honey and lemon drink? That might help soothe your throat

gargle with TCP. It's minging but it will really help with throat infections - I do it at the first sign of a sore throat now and it really does help, though obviously won't get rid of a bad throat infection....but does seem to nuke some of the germs making your throat so sore! There are directions for how to do it on the bottle.

Lemsips are useless in my opinion. Better to make a home made lemon and honey drink, and have that. My painkiller of choice is soluble aspirin, as you can gargel with that as well and I find it works better as a painkiller than paracetomol.

Can you tell I've had a few bad throats?!

oops sorry just noticed this is under pregnancy - forget the aspirin bit!
