37+5 weeks pregnant - slight slight cramping

hi all, really don't think i'm in labour as discharge normal, fetal movements still very regular (the LO is uber active!) however for the past 3 days I've had slight cramping mainly around my back. Pre pregnancy I got rather severe period pains so assume when I eventually DO go into labour they will be similar to those and these cramps whilst period-pain-ish, they aren't horrendous.
Is this just my body getting ready for the big day? Should also add - this is my first pregnancy!
thanks all

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm 37+5 too! I've been feeling a bit campy, back ache and def Brixton hicks which I've never had before (this will be dc3). I think it's just the very very early stages. Is your baby head down? Engaged?

apparently (s)he's engaged - does that make a difference? Sorry to hear you're also crampy etc

I saw the midwife this morning who said mine is 3/5 engaged. Sometimes I feel like everything goes really tight and I have to stand still for a minute or two. I assume its just everything getting ready for labor. Hope you are ok and good luck when the time comes!

thanks so much - and all the best to you too!
