Oh congratulations, lucy Grin. Be thankful you didn't have sickness with dd - I had it badly with both. It's a good sign you know, means hormone levels are high (or somesuch). Tell yourself that as you clutch the toilet bowl...much sympathy.

Thanks, barf, barf, barf! Wink

I was exactly the same with my DDs, lucy - nothing with 1st, like deth with second. I'm not a vomiter generally so I didn't, just lay about whimpering.

Mine did stop at c 12-13 weeks though, hope yours does too.

(Probably no help but I used to get through the day with strategically timed bowls of weetabix).

Thanks, will try that! Between whimpering, i've had a strange urge for a Danish bacon sandwich on white English bread with loads of butter. God i'm even hungry when i'm sick, are there no positives? Grin Dh back to work in Gibraltar tomorrow, so he will be able to fulfill my need Wink

Thought it normally meant a change in sex, when the pregnancy was so different - but Janh put paid to that theory!

PeachyClair · 17/04/2006 20:16

Morning Sickness can be theoretically linked to tiredness, As you have another child could this be the case?

lucy5 · 17/04/2006 20:19

I am exhausted but i don't think it's dd as I have had a lot of help with her in the last couple of days.

Ummm don't want to worry you but have you considered the possibility it is twins? I had no sickness at all with my first three babies and was most aggrieved to feel slightly sick with my fourth. Then it suddenly went off and the next day I started bleeding. Turned out I was losing a twin I never knew I was carrying (although I was beginning to have suspicions, purely based on the fact that I felt sick for the first time.

Twin pgs can make you feel sick/sicker and also make you show earlier (although I also showed earlier when I was pg with No 2 and he definitely was only one baby!)

teacups · 17/04/2006 20:32

could be twins or could be just a singleton (same sex or the other). Lots of my friends are pg with no 2 and feel differently - more / less sick, tired, hungry etc. No one has taken the plunge and found out the sex yet, but all are single babies...

Poor you, I spent the first 14 weeks clutching the bowl and found fizzy drinks really helped. Mints and wine gums also brilliant and more portable.

Take care and MANY congratulations Smile

if you search blloming awful, the hyperemesis webiste it brings up has a page of excellent nausea and vomiting tips (used to volunteer for them)
