Hello all
I am 34 weeks preg and find that i am being horribly sick nearly every night. i barely eat anything and when i have dinner (early) an hour later I have unbearable heartburn. nothing relieves this (tried milk yogurt rice pudd and gavisvon) and then i will cough which will make me throw up. i feel sick most of the time - whether i eat or not - and everytime i cough i have to really concentrate on my breathinh or i'll be sick.

*breathing
i have no appetite and can usually only sleep or get relief once I have thrown up.
i am so fed up of feeling so bad. i havent had the wonderful eating joy of pregnancy and i have lost lots of weight.
is this normal? my midwife never ever weighs me and i dont weigh myself but i swear i am smaller now than before preg. also she said my bump was small but didnt seem worried.
anyone relate?

Go and see your GP, sounds like severe reflux for which they can prescribe you something. Definitely needs looking at.

I had this to the point where the heart burn had damaged my oesophagus and I was vomiting blood. The GP has prescribed me ranitidine and finally I can sleep without vomiting in the night.

Definitely see your GP. I only did because DH basically put me in the car and took me there, and he was right. You don't want to start your labour exhausted, sleep deprived and mal-nourished, it's tough enough without that.

Definitely sounds like nasty reflux vomiting and you need something prescribing for it. Im on Ranitidine and its amazing! I've gone from vomiting around 3 times a day to maybe 3 times a week and im enjoying all foods and normal size portions again! (im 32 weeks) Get yourself to the Gp pronto! Smile

I stopped feeling sick/being sick bang on 41 weeks last time, coincidentally the day DD arrived! It was a miserable pregnancy.

But midwife said it is sadly normal :( not long now, although it probably feels never ending for you at the moment!

Just a quick note to say
THANK YOU SO MUCH
I went to the doctor (who wasnt going to give me anything at all) so I quoted her Ranitidine from you and she prescribed it for me!!! It is the 2nd day of taking it and I have not only managed to eat 2 meals a day (as opposed to half of one) but I also managed to keep them both down! I am so relieved/happy I could cry! And i slept a whole night.
THANK YOU SO MUCH XXX

Grin Grin Grin Grin Great news! It truly is a wonder drug!

worsestershiresauce · 04/01/2013 09:30

That's fantastic! I also slept right through last night, after a proper dinner as well. It's fab Smile

It feels so strange. I am ravonous - for the first time since getting pregnant. I ate THREE meals yesterday and today i am starving. I am sleeping through the night - the difference is unbelievable. My toilet must miss me!

Your toilet can take a hike. It's had too much of your time already Grin

So glad you're feeling ok now.
