Lie down on you back in a quiet room, no music or TV and concentrate. See if you can feel a fluttery, wind-type feeling :)

You should feel the baby at 26 weeks.

As long as you can feel something. Some babies aren't as active as others, and it may be that your placenta is at the front of your uterus. If you are really worried (and I know it's hard not to be) give your midwife a call.

I would say by 26 weeks, you should be feeling definite kicks. It may well be that you just haven't really noticed them.

It starts off (well, it did for me Smile) by feeling like wind - a small bubble popping. By 26 weeks you should be feeling some movement. It can be kicks, bubbles, bouncing, swishing, turns - just a sensation really of something moving in your tummy independently of you.

I had lots of anxiety about movement and the best advice I got was to get a cold drink and a biscuit / piece of chocolate (for instant sugar) and lie down. Drink drink, eat chocolate and wait to see what happened. I would always get a rush of activity within a couple of minutes.

If you aren't sure if you can feel movement after your drink, ring your MW or go to the ante natal day assessment unit at your hospital for reassurance. Take care and hope this helps.

Cheers

Thank you really. I don't have anyone to talk to about being PG i feel pretty isolated so reading these has reassured me. MW says that heartbeat ok so should be fine. thanks x

ditto what others have said about having a cold drink and a lie down, that always worked for me too!

it's very easy to miss babies first movements, I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was baby or not for ages!

Babies do sleep a lot in the womb too, so if you have time go and lie down for about an hour, you'll feel something eventually

blobsmummy · 19/04/2006 11:07

I thought I had wind problem for two weeks until I realised it was the baby moving!

The only thing that makes my baby kick (wasn't responsive at all the cold drinks etc.) was lying down and doing pelvic floor exercises. She doesn't like the motion of it at all!

Also it sometimes works if I put something cold against my stomach.

I'm sure you'll feel something soon - my friend didn't feel anything for ages but now her baby never stops!

i find sometimes if i'm tired or my tummies been growing alot i can't really feel baby move that well. sometimes you can feel them better with your hand laid flat on the botton of your bump while lying on the couch. lying on your back is always the best way to feel baby move in general

i would get it checked with doctor though, after 24 weeks your supposed to be counting kicks so it wouldn't hurt to make sure everything is ok. like someone said the chances are your placentas at the front and thats why you can't feel much though so don't panic too much

Ambre solaire No streak bronzer (Spray)
As long as you exfoliate and moisturise there are no streaks or patches at all (and before i used it i was a fake tan virgin Grin)
Downside is that the next day it smells a little, nothing horrible but as soon as you wash it goes Smile
