Wrist pain a preggo thing?

I've had this for a couple of weeks now, can't work out if it is pregnancy or something else. I wake up and the radial side (thumb side) of my wrist is agony. Hubby has to half dress me as it is sooo sore. It doesn't feel numb, isn't effecting my fingers, just the side of my wrist. Anyone else had anything similar? I googled carpal tunnel but that seemed to be somewhere else?

Have you tried googling 'mothers thumb' or 'de quervains syndrome'?

I didnt get this in pregnancy, but got it for the first time 6 weeks after my son was born, and have had it twice since then (randomly, out of the blue). You can buy wrist supports which make a huge difference, and the one that I found most useful is one that immobilises the thumb (has a splint down the thumb). I think I got it off amazon.

For me, it was acutely sore for about 3-4 days (my husband had to take time off work as I couldn't pick up my son or change a nappy or anything) then continued to be bearably sore for weeks afterwards.

It may well be with all your ligaments etc being loose in pregnancy, that has brought it on? Worth going to your GP though to get it checked out.
