Hi- just need a little reassurance please. Am at about week 5 plus one or two days. Have had fever (common cold virus i think) yesterday and it looks like it's not gone away yet though I have been taking paracetamol. Is there anyone else who has had fever this early on without the pregnancy having been affected?

Sorry I've not been in this situation (been ill all over Christmas but no fever) so can't help you but wanted to give this a little 'bump' for you. Sure someone will be along soon who can help. Hope you feel better soon x

I had a horrendous cold at about the same stage, was on the couch for a week :/ just try and keep warm and keep up your fluid intake. Hope you feel better soon x

Not as early as 5 weeks and a long time ago now but I had flu - with high fever which lasted for about a week when I was about 9/40, rest of pregnancy was fine and now have very healthy 11 year old DD.

Thank you, that is reassuring.
Thanks looney for bumping the thread!

Hi zombie, im 6 weeks and been hot / cold on and off for 3 days now. Paracetamol is working for the temp, but head is left tender and body needs very gentle care I think. I worried about the paracetamol initially. But think making the baby too hot is worse than just popping a gentle reliever. The accompanying coughing I had also made me worry, but then they're meant to be pretty tough (and as a first timer I'm probably over thinking Smile).
