I'm 31 weeks & today found out I'm having a boy! DH didn't want to find out sex at scan but thought he might change his mind later so we got sonographer to write down the sex in an envelope for us. He's still not changed his mind but I had decided last week or so (maybe crazy 3rd trimester hormones) that I really needed to know so I just opened the envelope!!! DH still doesn't want to know & I can't even tell 18 month old DD as she's properly talking & will def tell everyone so I thought I'd share my exciting news on mumsnet to stop me bursting with excitement & accidentally blurting it out to DH!!!

Congratulations! Boys are fab, my son is so cuddly and lovely, if very active! I'm expecting a girl now and feels a bit strange, but exciting. I'm sure your little girl will love having a baby brother.

I'm having a boy too!! :) when are you due? I also have an 18 month old dd (almost 18 months anyways)

leannac · 26/12/2012 19:10

I'm due 28 feb & super excited now! Not that I would have minded if we were having a girl but find myself too busy chasing toddler to pay much attention to pregnancy so its fab to find out we have a little boy arriving soon!

Yay! Congratulations! We found out and it makes it so much more real when you know what you're expecting. Boys are lovely, mine's 10 days old and I can't stop looking at him Xmas Smile

TaggieCrimbleBlack · 26/12/2012 19:28

Yay! Hoorah! Hooray! And YIPEEEEEEE!

WingDefence · 26/12/2012 19:33

Congrats! I have a boy already, he'll be 4 this Sunday and I love him to bits. Hs very affectionate too.

I'm expecting a girl this time round (25 weeks now) and I'm worried about what to do with nappy changes - boys are very easy in that respect as they have no nooks and crannies! Xmas Blush

TheSecretCervixDNCOP · 26/12/2012 21:38

Wingdefence am having the same worry about boys as they've got..well extras!

PogoBob · 26/12/2012 21:45

Congratulations!! I'm due on Friday with a boy and have a 28mo DD.

Can totally sympathise with the whole getting my head round the differences when it comes to nappy changes! Keep getting told stories of boys peeing all over the place at every time you take their nappy off!

Can't wait to see what DD is like as a big sister though as she is really into dolls at the moment [grin

WingDefence · 28/12/2012 11:22

DS never really did the weeing thing at nappy changes. Just remember to pop a tissue on top in case.

With boys, you just hold the willy out of the way and wipe all around. It really is pretty easy. So now can one of you please explain changing a girl's nappy (especially a nice runny poo one!) to me Grin

FoofFighter · 28/12/2012 12:35

Congratulations :)

Have you thought of some names yet?

I can't imagine knowing the sex and my partner not knowing though, doesn't seem... right?

Imnotaslimjim · 28/12/2012 12:40

Oh congrats, boys are fab!! And as PP have pointed out, nappies are much easier to deal with!

wingdefence sorry to inform you, but if its wet and filled the crevices, you do need to clean them out for her or she'll get sore. Nothing too brutal, just a quick wipe to make sure its all clean! You get used to it quick enough

WingDefence · 28/12/2012 20:00

Blimey, poor future-DD and her possibly sore crevices Blush

Sorry to hijack the thread OP! Good luck again :)

TheSecretCervixDNCOP · 29/12/2012 14:33

Yes WD just make sure to clean all the creases etc, barrier cream such as sudocreme on top and all will be fine, don't worry :)

BikeRunSki · 29/12/2012 14:36

Yipee! I 've got a 4 yo boy, he's very sweet and very full of beans! Can be right moody too. Boys are especially good if you have also got a girl (DD is 1) - you get the best of everything!

My mum had two of each. She sums up parenting in 10 words:

Boys mess up your house; girls mess up your mind.
