Refusing a sweep

With my last pregnancy, in one day I had about 5 sweeps when I was being induced and while I was in labour, which i found very painful and quite traumatic. Especially the last one which felt like the midwife had used a knife to do it. (Obv she hadnt but she wasnt mucking around and the pain was off the chart. Worse than any pain imaginable)

Now im pregnant again i dont want them to go anywhere near me like that.
Have any of you refused a sweep? How did the midwife react??

I haven't refused one but as far as I know it is something that is offered or suggested not pushed. It is quite invasive as you well know and with no guarantee of working so I honestly don't think they'd mind if you said no. My midwife gave me a sweep but if I'd have said "no thanks" she would have been fine. I had to be induced for medical reasons and sweep did nothing.
