So I am becoming slightly obsessed with the smell of good quality leather handbags/purses etc. I am even contemplating buying an expensive bag I can't afford to just be able to smell it!!!!!

Am I totally weird? 23 weeks pregnant and the only thing that seems to meet the craving at mo is a quick sniff on my leather purse, will start getting strange looks from people in office.

Anyone else have this/other strange cravings......

Doesn't sound weird to me but then my craving is cleaning products, would sit and sniff flash lemon all day if I could! Sniff not drink obviously :)

Cheap school plimsolls or any new shoes. Was wrapping Xmas presents last night and so did not want to wrap the new trainers I had attached to my nose!!

Ha ha- brilliant, love that it's not just me. I bought my DD some little leather shoes and thought they smelt lovely. After having a good sniff let her play with them and she then sniffed them too, I'm a terrible mum teaching her weird habits Xmas Grin

Since 17 weeks I've been craving cement and bricks! I'm now 37 weeks and it hasn't stopped, I know I shouldn't but a few times now I have secretly eaten some Blush

Mine with my.last one was smelling wet sponges I wanted to eat it lol, and then petrol I had a craving for petrol loved smelling it. Apparently craving non good things can be a sign of lack of iron, certainly turned out to be true with me x

BabyBellasMumma · 20/12/2012 16:05

I also had low iron and have taken iron tablets since 20 weeks but cravings haven't stopped x

I was another sponge sniffer. I would suck water through them too. Even my own bath water boak! Also the smell of wet washing.
The normal thing I craved was bread, dry white bread. All three pregnancies have been the same too.

beckie90 · 20/12/2012 16:27

Mine didn't either bella x

Ha ha snickers I had exactly the same craving in my last pregnancy - I was breathing in the fumes and really quite tempted to lick my kitchen surfaces Blush

I had a craving for foisty damp smells. Would spend ages with my head in the coal shed!
