How late can you fly in pregnancy?

On a plane that is! We want to book a holiday coming back the 29th July. Baby is due 11th September. Does it depend on the airline?

Normally up until 28 weeks, and then up to 34 weeks with a letter from your GP. I also managed a European flight at 36 weeks, but I think that was a big mistake TBH - I started having contractions for 2 days that started on the return flight - not sure if it was a coincidence or due to the cabin pressure - baby ended up being over a week late in the end. Phew.

However it is always 'at the discretion of the pilot' - you should check with each airline. HTH..

Its at the discretion of the airline, with note from your GP, and at discretion of insurance company.

My midwife turned her nose up and me flying when i'll be 13 weeks - i think generally its just frowned upon!

Provided you have a good pregnancy you'd be fine, but you can't know that until the date you go so i guess its a risk you'll have to take.

The risk i mean in that you may have to cancel flight if not deemed fit to fly , i didn't mean a risk to your pregnancy!

Think 34 weeks short haul is the "norm" but check with the airline. Long haul may wele be earlier. You may need something from your gp after 28 weeks stating you are fit to fly. Also notify your insurance company as it is a pre-existing condition. Although you'll find an EHIC card would probably cover you in an emergency (assuming you stay within EU and countries with a reciprocal agreement with EU), but would not, on its own, allow for any revised travel arrangements, extended hotel stays etc.
