Hello, I'm new to Mumsnet but i felt I had to sign up to let other expectant mums know about a marvellous treatment for cystitis. I'm now 12 weeks and I think the little one caused a kink in my plumbling tubes because I got the most horrendous bout of cystitis last week. Not had an attack in 15 years and this was worse than anything i remembered - doubled up in pain, could barely walk and had to bite on a rag when peeing to stop me from screaming from the pain. Was terrified the infection would spread to my kidneys and I could not get hold of a doctor to prescribe antibiotics so i searched the web for a safe alternative. Came across www.waterfall-d-mannose.com/ and ordered from them.
D-mannose is a form of glucose extracted from sweet forest timbers. Its particular molecular structure acts like one half of velcro, attaching itself to the bacteria in the bladder and then taking it with it as it is flushed away. It comes as a white powder which dissolves completely in water and tastes slightly sweet. It arrived by first class post the next morning (survived the night by drinking bicarb in water to create an alkaline environment in my bladder, cranberry juice not recommended) and within an hour of taking it, the pain diminished. By the end of the day I felt back to normal, although i took a maintenance dose for the rest of the week to ensure the infection had cleared completely. I can't recommend this product highly enough nor the efficient and kind service from ''Sweet Cures of York", run by John Bremner and Anna Sawkins, tel. 01904 340916
I hope I'm allowed to post a recommendation like this, I was in so much pain i was frightened I'd lose the baby and I wouldn't want anyone else to suffer what i did when there's a safe and highly effective remedy available.
