has anyone had a progressive pregnancy but free from any symptoms? ive just found i`m pregnant but have no symptom and my thought are that my hormone levels are not high enough for them to show therefore a likelihood of a miscarriage at som epoint .all my other pregnancies i knew i was pregnant almost from time of conception! my symptoms were alway the same and very strong but thers nothing with this one yet i had a very strong positve line on the test , any ideas of advice please? is it possible to sail through with no morning sickness or any other signs?

Some people do, it is possible. How many weeks are you?

hoxtonchick · 13/04/2006 09:47

i didn't truly believe i was pg with ds until i had my 12 week scan i had so few symptoms. the only one i really had was extreme tiredness, but no nausea/morning sickness at all.

bambi06 · 13/04/2006 09:48

i`ve only just found out being 10 days late?

They say pregnancies can vary, perhaps this is what is happening?
Congratulations!! Smile

bambi06 · 13/04/2006 09:52

thanks..its abit scary as it wasnt planned and im 40 now plus i have no more baby stuff or eqpt anymore but im holding off getting excited just in case as ive never felt like this before in a pregnancy..maybe its because im an older mom! who knows but i`ve had a few sleepless nights wondering whether this is the right thing to do!

I had no symptoms with my second pregnancy after being quite sick and having sore boobies in the first trimester of my first pregnancy. It was quite unsettling. It does vary for each one and the fact that you got a good strong line means that the hormone is there. My sister had bad sickness for her first two and nothing for her third so she is further proof. It's not very comforting though and you end up feeling jealous of everyone else's sickness etc when you should be feeling smug.

Piffle · 13/04/2006 09:55

lucky you, now you've said it, you'll get really bad sickness
I recall posting in my antenatal club when pg with dd, 6 weeks and not a sole sign of a symptom.
2 days later I was vomiting 35 times a day and had hypermeesis throught my pregnancy
Enjoy it while you can :)

blueshoes · 13/04/2006 09:57

bambio6, I never had symptoms for any of my pregnancies beyond a swelling belly (later movements) and a bit of bleeding in the first trimester. I carried one to term, lost one early, and fingers crossed, am going to carry this one to term.

Nbg · 13/04/2006 09:59

I didn't have any symptoms with this pg. I id feel slightly sick at the smell of meat cooking but I think that had more to do with our flithy oven Blush Grin

bambi06 · 13/04/2006 10:40

thanks everyones being very comforting and maybe i can start to get my had around the idea that i amm actually pregnant as it still doesnt feel real yet. so thanks everyone

Hi Bambi,

I had no sickness to speak of with DD, and the sore boobs were probably because I was on progesterone support. This time, I feel very sick but have no sore boobs, no twinges, nothing else at all - was convinced I wasn't pregnant! Scan today proves I am, though - and listen up, young 'un, 40 is nothing. I had my first at 43.

Congratulations, and if you're worried, you might just be able to talk your gp into sending you to an EPU for a scan - tell him/her you're incredibly anxious - mine has been lovely about things, given that I'm older and have a history of m/c.

Wishing you a happy healthy pg!

xxClaire

thanks elibean, youve given me confidence in hoping, the reason why im doubting is tha i lost one 2 rs ago and thought that was it..so thanks again

i had no sickness at all through my whole pregnancy, not even once, no sore boobs either Smile

jabberwocky · 13/04/2006 17:12

I'm so glad you started this thread bambi06! I am 41, 5 weeks pg and no real symptoms either. I didn't have morning sickness with ds, though, so not too surprised at that. Waiting for sore boobs to kick in...

bambi06 · 13/04/2006 18:08

wow, its surprising how many mums have gone through symptomless pregnancies..we must be the lucky ones!i was told once by a midwife that the stronger the morning sickness then generally the stronger your hormones and the less chance of miscarrying! i wonder if she was right?
it would be wonderful to go through with nothing apart from the obvious discomfort towards the end. do you feel at 41 though you will have the energy levels needed?

Elibean · 13/04/2006 19:51

I had it at 43....not so sure at 46 Shock think I might need a bit of help this time. Luckily, I have that choice.

Jabberwocky, don't worry if the boobs don't get sore - mine still haven't at six weeks, whereas they were agony with DD!

Good luck everyone!

jabberwocky · 13/04/2006 20:48

Thanks, elibean :)

I had heard about the morning sickness theory too, but I think it has since been debunked.

Northerner · 13/04/2006 20:49

Yeah I've heard the morning sickness tale before. In fact someone told me that when I was pregnant with ds and had absolutley no Morning sickness. Ds is now 4 and fast asleep in bed so that theory is bollocks!

cataloguequeen · 13/04/2006 21:03

Well done you! congrats!Smile

I hope you do have a symptom free pregnancy my sister did with her first she worked right up till the end happy and smiling all the way only spent the last two weeks in hospital due to PE.

I on the other hand was sick as a dog, terrible pelvic pain, in and out of hosp. with high blood pressure all the way through both my pregs she just couldn't understand why I was such a sour faced bint... till she had her second pregnancy sick as me poor thing! Ha!Grin

bambi06 · 15/04/2006 14:28

anything happening with you jabberwocky? although my boobs did feel sore .a bit like before period is due tha thas gone when i woke up this morning..is that ominous i wonder/still dont have any other symptoms and now hubby is getting into the idea of no 3 on the way that it may not happen at all! i`m going to try and get an appt at EPU to see if i can have a scan to see if there is a heartbeat as the one i miscarried the baby died at 8 weeks but i didnt find out till i had a scan at 12 weeks and there wasnt a heart beat s oit was classed as a missed miscarriage as my body hadnt tried to get rid of it.... lets keep each other company through this jabberwocky..whats your instinct on yours?

Hey bambi06, still no definite signs, here. Maybe a little nipple sensitivity and some changes in appetite and energy levels. I'm trying not to get paranoid as I really didn't have a lot of symptoms with my other two pregnancies early on either.

Wouldn't mind a little nausea just to ease my mind, though Grin

bambi06 · 15/04/2006 20:21

so when did your symptoms begin with your other two then?

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 15/04/2006 20:36

I remember that I had been having constipation Blush for a couple of weeks when I went in for my 10 week checkup. That was about it, really, expcept for the frequent peeing, which started early on and I have noticed that again already.

bambi06 · 15/04/2006 20:40

o/k im getting depressed as im having nothing at all!! its odd to actually wanting to have morning sickness!!Angry

But you do have some soreness in your boobs, so that's something Smile. Why don't you see if you can get in for an 8 week scan? We are about the same age (I'm 41) and that's when they are doing my first one, although I am in the US. If it makes you feel any better, I am convinced that I was pg last summer, had lots of symptoms early on and was 10 days late (that never, ever happens) but never tested positive. I will always believe that my hormone levels weren't high enough for the test and yet I had tons of symptoms. And we weren't ttc at that time either, so don't think they were phantom symptoms. So, there you go, more symptoms that time than this time.

Have you had any headaches recently? That's what I get instead of morning sickness. Last time they were really bad at 6 weeeks and I have had a couple lately, so wondered if something was going on before I tested. But, interestingly enough, haven't had one since the test last week.

Anyway, try to think positive and enjoy feeling good while you can Smile
